Who we are
Your House in 3D is operated by Idea Engine LLC, a Wisconsin limited liability company ("we", "us"), which is responsible for the personal information described here. Questions and requests: privacy@idea-engine.studio.
Postal address: Idea Engine LLC, Wisconsin, USA. Mailing address available on request at privacy@idea-engine.studio.What we collect
- Order details: your email address; the street address of the home; the map coordinates of that address from Google's address lookup; the product, print colors and any color notes you choose; when you accepted our Terms and which version; and, for printed orders, the shipping name and address you give Stripe.
- Your photos: the exterior photos you upload, or still frames your browser takes from a walk-around video (the video file itself is not uploaded). Photos can incidentally show people, vehicles, licence plates, house numbers or neighbouring property.
- What we make from them: the 3D model files (STL and print parts), the modeling program, 3D reconstructions, measurements and review images our pipeline creates.
- Payment: handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number; we receive a payment reference, the amount paid, and whether a payment was refunded or disputed.
- Waitlist: your email address, the language you were browsing in and which sign-up button you used.
- Technical: IP address and request logs, for security, rate limiting and troubleshooting, and an anonymous, cookie-less count of page visits. When a visit starts we also note the website that sent you (its domain only, for example google.com), any campaign tags in the link you followed (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content or source), and the page you arrived on, plus whether the visit looks automated (a crawler or link scanner rather than a browser), judged from your browser's user-agent header, which we don't keep. This record doesn't include your IP address or any identifier, and we use it only to see which links bring people here. Product analytics (PostHog) is built into the site but switched off; we will update this policy before turning it on.
- Staff sign-in: the admin area uses Google sign-in for our own staff. Customers don't have accounts.
- We don't use your photos for facial recognition or to create biometric identifiers.
How we use it
- To build your 3D model from your photos.
- To email you about your order: confirmation, download link, shipping, and any problem with the build.
- To print and ship a model if you ordered one, and to handle cancellations, refunds, disputes and support.
- To send waitlist emails you signed up for (occasional updates, gift ideas and launch offers). You can unsubscribe any time.
- To keep the service secure and working, and to keep the tax and accounting records the law requires.
- We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we don't use your photos for anything other than your order.
AI processing
To build your model, your photos, and images and measurements derived from them, are sent to OpenAI (GPT models) and Anthropic (Claude models) through their business APIs. We don't send them your name, email address or payment details.
Under their API terms, neither provider uses API data to train its models by default. OpenAI may keep API inputs and outputs for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, and some long-running requests are stored by OpenAI for that period so our job can collect the result; we switch that storage off wherever the request allows it. Anthropic keeps API data for a limited period under its commercial terms (generally up to 30 days).
Who processes it for us
- Amazon Web Services, Inc.: hosting, database, file storage, the servers that run the modeling job, email delivery (Amazon SES) and staff sign-in (Amazon Cognito). United States.
- Stripe, Inc.: payments, refunds and disputes. United States.
- Google LLC: address suggestions while you type (Google Maps Platform; your browser loads Google's script, so Google receives your IP address and what you type in the address field) and staff sign-in.
- OpenAI, L.L.C.: AI model processing of your photos. United States.
- Anthropic, PBC: AI model processing of your photos (backup model and photo sorting). United States.
- We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or others' safety, or to a successor if the business is sold.
Where your data is processed
All processing takes place in the United States (primarily the AWS us-east-1 region). The service is intended for customers in the United States.
How long we keep it
- Photos uploaded for an order that was never placed: deleted automatically after 24 hours.
- Order photos, model files and order records: kept while we may need to deliver, reprint or support your order, and for our tax and accounting records. We don't yet delete them on a fixed schedule. Email privacy@idea-engine.studio and we will delete your photos and all model files, and erase your email address, the home's address and map coordinates, your shipping name, address and tracking number, and your notes. We keep only the payment record the law requires: the order number, product and print colors, amount paid, Stripe payment references, order, payment, delivery, refund and dispute dates, and the Terms version you accepted.
- Modeling-job logs: 14 days. Other server logs: a limited period for security and troubleshooting.
- Waitlist email addresses: until you unsubscribe.
Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe from waitlist email any time with the link in our emails or on the unsubscribe page.
- Access, correct, delete or get a copy of your information: email privacy@idea-engine.studio from the address you used. We respond within 45 days.
- We honour these requests for everyone, wherever you live. Depending on your state you may have additional rights, such as appealing our decision; email us and we will explain how. We won't treat you differently for using them.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Photo and model storage is private and reached only through short-lived signed links, and access is limited to the people who run the service. No method is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and any authorities as the law requires, including Wisconsin's breach-notification law.
Children
The service is for adults (18+). It is not directed to children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and for material changes we will email customers with an open order.
