Who we are and these Terms

Your House in 3D is operated by Idea Engine LLC, a Wisconsin limited liability company ("we", "us"). These Terms of Service govern your use of this website and every order you place.

You accept these Terms, including our Refund Policy, by ticking the box on the order page and paying. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract to place an order. Printed models ship to addresses in the United States only.

The service

We turn exterior photos of a home, or still frames taken from a walk-around video, into a simplified 3D model. You can buy it as a downloadable STL file ($50), or as that STL file plus a 3D-printed model shipped within the United States ($100 printed in one color, or $150 printed in up to four colors).

How your model is made (AI-generated output)

• Your model is generated automatically by our AI-assisted modeling pipeline: software that reconstructs the house from your photos and uses AI models from OpenAI and Anthropic to write and check a 3D program of it. It is not modeled by hand.
• The STL file is emailed to you automatically when the job finishes, usually within 2 hours of payment. A person does not review every file before it is sent.
• A model is an approximation of the house (overall shape, roofline, doors and windows), not a survey-grade or architecturally accurate replica. Details your photos don't show are inferred or left out, and AI-generated output can contain mistakes.
• Printed models are printed, finished, packed and shipped by us.

Your photos and your rights

• You must own the photos you upload or have permission to use them, and you must have the right to have the pictured home modeled (for example, it is your home, a client's home with their consent, or a listing you represent).
• Don't upload photos in which people are the subject, or photos of interiors.
• You keep all rights to your photos. You give us a limited licence to store and process them, including sending them to the AI providers named in our Privacy Policy, only to build, print, deliver and support your order. We don't use your photos to train AI models, or in our marketing without your permission.

Your licence to the model

Once you have paid, we grant you a perpetual, non-exclusive licence to use, print and scale your model for personal, non-commercial purposes, including giving a print as a gift. Reselling the model file or selling prints of it requires our written permission. To the extent any intellectual-property rights exist in the generated model, we keep them, subject to this licence.

Prices, payment and taxes

• Prices are in US dollars and include US shipping for printed models.
• Payment is processed by Stripe at checkout; we never see your full card number.
• Prices do not include sales tax unless stated. If we are required to collect sales tax, it is shown at checkout before you pay.
• Promotion codes are subject to the conditions shown with them and may be withdrawn at any time.

Delivery

• STL file: emailed to you, usually within 2 hours of payment. If the automated build fails, we'll email you and either finish your model another way, ask for better photos, or refund you in full.
• Printed model: ships within 1 month of your order to the US address you give at checkout, with a tracking number. If we can't ship within that time, we'll email you before it is due with a new date, and you may cancel the print for a refund of what you paid for it (your tier's price minus the STL-only price).
• Risk of loss passes to you when the carrier delivers the package. If a package is lost in transit, tell us and we'll reprint or refund the print.

Refunds and cancellations

You can cancel for a full refund any time before your STL file is delivered. Once it is delivered the sale is final, except for defects: tell us within 14 days and we will fix, reprint or refund it. The full rules, including damaged prints, are in our Refund Policy, which is part of these Terms.

Product safety (printed models)

• Decorative collectible, not a toy. Not intended for children under 14. Contains small parts, including separate floor and roof pieces and small pegs: choking hazard.
• Printed in PLA plastic. Not food-safe. Keep away from heat sources and direct hot sun; PLA can soften at about 50 °C (122 °F).

Acceptable use

Don't upload unlawful content or photos you have no right to use, and don't try to disrupt, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service. We may refuse or cancel an order that breaks these Terms, with a refund of any amount paid.

Disclaimers

Except as stated in these Terms and our Refund Policy, the service and the models are provided "as is". We don't promise that an STL file will print successfully on every printer, slicer or setting, or that a model is suitable for any purpose other than a decorative keepsake. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer-protection law that cannot be waived.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses. This does not limit liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for personal injury caused by our negligence.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Idea Engine LLC against third-party claims arising from photos or other content you uploaded without the right to do so, or from your breach of these Terms.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or stop offering the service, or refuse an order, at any time. If we cancel an order you have paid for, we refund it in full. The sections on your licence, disclaimers, liability, indemnity and governing law continue to apply after an order is complete.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute relating to these Terms or an order will be decided exclusively by the state or federal courts located in the State of Wisconsin, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. Either of us may instead bring a claim in small-claims court if it qualifies. Before starting a claim, please email us so we can try to resolve it.

Changes, entire agreement and contact

We may update these Terms. The date and version above identify the current Terms, and changes apply to orders placed after that date. These Terms, the Refund Policy and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the service. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
